Relaxed Mountain Vibes in Fraser Valley

Sasquatch Mountain Resort, located in the Fraser Valley, offers a more relaxed, less crowded alternative to other ski areas. Known for its stunning mountain views, it features a variety of terrain suitable for all skill levels, including beginner, intermediate, and advanced runs. The resort also offers snowboarding, snowshoeing, and tubing for those looking for a diverse winter experience. With a cozy lodge, affordable pricing, and a friendly atmosphere for families and those seeking a laid-back mountain escape.

As a teenager, this was the closest ski resort to me when it was still called Hemlock. If you're from the Fraser Valley, chances are you've been here. It’s close, affordable, and while you won’t find the most challenging runs, you’ll enjoy peaceful rides without the crowds. The resort isn’t as popular with city visitors, meaning more laps for you. With only two chairlifts and a limited selection of runs, you’ll likely find yourself repeating the same trails. For locals, it’s the perfect spot to spend weekends practicing before tackling the bigger mountains.

HERE ARE SOME TIPS

Bring Snow Tire Chains
The road to the resort can be tricky in winter, so it's recommended to have an AWD vehicle, and don't forget to bring snow tire chains. It can get very slippery.

Hot Springs
Make it a weekend getaway by staying in Harrison Hot Springs. After a day on the slopes, unwind with a soothing soak in the hot springs for the ultimate relaxation.

Pros

  • Short lift lines
  • A hidden gem with fewer tourists
  • Affordable pricing

Cons

  • Small resort area
  • The road to the resort can be challenging
  • Primarily suited for beginner to intermediate skill levels

Overall, if you're in the area and looking for a laid-back, budget-friendly getaway, Sasquatch Mountain is a great option.
