Community Owned Ski Hill
Tucked behind the town of Greenwood, near an open copper mine pit, lies a small but charming local gem, Phoenix Ski Hill. While it doesn’t offer a ton of terrain, it makes up for it with heart and community spirit. Built for locals to gather and enjoy the slopes together, the hill features just one T-bar, but honestly, that’s all you need to have a good time.
We arrived on the final day of the season, just in time to catch some of the closing day festivities. The energy was high, and everyone was in great spirits. Although we missed our chance to ride (we got there too late to grab tickets), it was clear from the smiles and laughter that the fun was in full swing.
HERE ARE SOME TIPS
Stay Positive
If you’re visiting from out of town, remember to be friendly and respectful to the locals. Embrace the laid-back vibe, be outgoing, and enjoy the good times. Positive energy goes a long way!
Pros
- Quiet
Cons
- Short runs
- One t-bar
Phoenix Ski is a small, family-focused operation where the real draw isn’t the terrain— it’s the community. You don’t come here for endless runs; you come for the connection, the warmth, and the people. It’s incredible how a little hill like this can bring out the best in everyone.
