Local Gem with Stunning Views
Mount Seymour Ski Resort, located close to downtown Vancouver and is a favourite for locals seeking a convenient and scenic winter getaway. Known for its family-friendly atmosphere, the resort offers a variety of terrain suited for all skill levels, from beginners to advanced skiers and snowboarders. With stunning views of the city, ocean, and surrounding mountains, Mt Seymour provides a unique and beautiful experience. The resort also features snowshoeing, tubing, and night skiing, making it perfect for those looking to maximize their time on the mountain.

Mount Seymour doesn’t use snow machines, relying instead on natural snow, so conditions can vary. With climate change, the resort may experience less snowfall in the future. I first learned about Seymour through the iconic '90s snowboard group Seymour Skids, whose local riders went on to become professionals. The backcountry is home to legendary bumps and breathtaking views of Vancouver. The resort’s layout is unique, with the lodge and parking situated at the top, requiring you to ride down to the chairlifts. With only three chairlifts, you’ll often find yourself repeating the same runs. I’ve visited a few times, mostly for night skiing, but I always seem to miss the Brockton chair. The vibes are great, with young staff playing energetic music to get everyone hyped.

HERE ARE SOME TIPS
Backcountry Access
Gain access to Second Pump (Tim Jones Peak) for some incredible natural descents. Be sure to bring your avalanche gear, as the area is avalanche-prone.
Incredible Sunsets
While not related to riding, the sunsets at Mount Seymour are truly breathtaking. Watching the sun dip into the ocean will enhance your experience and leave you feeling lucky to witness such beauty.

Pros
- Quieter than other local mountains
- Unique layout and trail options
- Good vibes only
Cons
- Inconsistent snow coverage, watch for rocks.

With its convenient access, affordable pricing, and friendly atmosphere, Mount Seymour is a fantastic destination for both casual visitors and seasoned winter sports enthusiasts. Grab your friends, pack up the car, and head to the mountain to enjoy everything it has to offer.
